Spring Message from the CEO

Monday 23rd May

One of the main encouragements in leading Nehemiah is the casual opportunities that occur during a day when one of our residents will tell me about the progress they are making. It is hard to describe just how powerful it is to hear about their plans and hopes.
Many of them are now grasping hold of a future which in the past has eluded them and this not only motivates them but encourages others, particularly our amazing staff team. You may feel that you have heard lots of good stories from Nehemiah; in my experience they keep happening and each is unique in its own way.

Our last graduation...
Last month another four of our residents graduated and the event we held to mark the occasion was a triumph. The evening was an emotional rollercoaster as our graduating residents spoke of their personal journeys and their hopes for their futures. You can read one of their accounts, Victor’s story, in this month’s newsletter.

Our next graduation...
Our next graduation will take place in August on Friday 5th and we hope to see as many of you as possible. This special occasion will be held outdoors in our lovely garden and will be a joint event with our annual barbecue. This is your opportunity to join us in an informal setting and learn more about our work as well as celebrate our successes. We anticipate another spectacular afternoon and evening!

Pru Bike Ride...
On the subject of spectacular events we have a limited number of golden bond places for the Prudential Bike Ride which takes place at the end of July. This iconic event, now in its fourth year, is turning into one of the ‘must-do’ activities of the biking fraternity. If you know of enthusiastic cyclists who would like one of these coveted places please do pass on the word but hurry, registration must be completed by this Friday.

Your support...
Meanwhile, we’re delighted to announce that one of our own senior residents will be taking on the bike ride challenge! We hope you’ll join us in wishing him well and please do send your messages of encouragement via his online giving page. Your good wishes really do have a big impact on all our men who care very much that their success matters to others.

And finally…
Thank you for your continued interest in our work, your support means a great deal and has a powerful impact on what we are able to achieve.
