Last week those taking part in 'A New Future' programme at our first-stage house have been learning about what a healthy and positive relationship is, whether this is with a family member, partner, or work colleague. They have been learning that a positive relationship does not always mean that they have to be in contact with somebody. For example, sometimes a decision is made not be in contact with their friends or family if they have a negative impact on their recovery. This is difficult, but better in the long run when they can be in a better place to make contact and rebuild a relationship.
