Caroline Palmer with her wonderful Christmas Charity Bake sale!
Our star supporters…
Each year we’re blessed with a whole range of supporters from regular donors (those who give every month or annually) to individuals who make one off gifts. In addition there are those who engage in dedicated events such as running a marathon, joining a bike ride or hiking a mountain so that they can raise valuable funds to help with our work. Whatever the support it comprises a huge contribution to our much needed income enabling us to keep on doing what we do.
In addition to our cherished regular givers (for whom we can never give enough thanks) last year we received a fantastic additional £18,000 from individuals who ran marathons, cycled sponsored bike rides and forfeited birthday presents for donations to our cause. One very special donor spent twelve gruelling hours climbing Europe’s highest peak to raise funds for us (you can read Lelde's touching testimonial here). We’re indebted to you all.
Over the Christmas period a visitor, who introduced himself only as Richard, dropped by to donate all the unused soft drinks from his wedding. It was a lovely gesture and very much appreciated by our residents - for whom Christmas can often be a tough time.
Recently, too, one of our new supporters (who first came to see our work last summer) held a Christmas Charity Bake Sale raising an amazing £172 to add to the many pledges she has already secured to run the London marathon this summer! To Caroline and all our 2016 marathon runners a huge and heartfelt thank you.
Your kindnesses and thoughtful deeds continue to reinforce how fortunate we are to be acknowledged as an organization that is doing something truly worthwhile and of immense value to the community. Please carry on supporting us and we look forward to doing more great work in 2016!
