Nehemiah’s Christmas Celebration

Just before Christmas, we gathered together at 47 for a celebration of ten of our residents as they marked the completion of Stage One.  It was a significant milestone, and one certainly worth celebrating! Stage One is not easy. The room was filled with warmth, laughter and a real sense of togetherness. As we listened to each resident share a little of their journey so far, it was inspiring to see the changes they had all made in their lives at Nehemiah.

We were also privileged to hear from key workers, who spoke with such care and respect about the men they support every day. Their reflections highlighted not only the progress that has been made, but the relationships that sit at the heart of recovery. Trust built slowly. Small steps noticed and celebrated. People being seen and valued.

Holding this celebration just before Christmas felt especially meaningful. For many of our residents, this time of year can be complicated. Coming together as a community, marking achievements and sharing food and conversation, offered a different kind of festive moment. We are incredibly proud of all ten residents who completed Stage One. This is not the end of their journey, but it is a strong and important foundation. They are now moving on to Stage Two as they continue to build stability, confidence and independence in the months ahead.

Thank you to everyone who makes moments like this possible. From our staff and volunteers to our supporters behind the scenes, your belief in our residents creates spaces where change can truly take hold.
